  • Structural Untreated Pine:
    A natural, raw pine with a soft, clean look. It must be painted, stained, or sealed for outdoor use, as it offers no built-in weather protection. Ideal for custom finishes, but requires regular maintenance to stay solid outdoors.
  • Structural Treated Pine: A strong, outdoor-ready timber treated to resist rot, decay, and insects. It can be left to weather naturally into a silver-grey tone or, for a longer-lasting finish, you can opt for our professional staining service

  • Tasmanian Oak:
    A light-toned Aussie hardwood with a smooth, clean grain that takes stain and paint beautifully. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use when sealed properly. It offers a warm, natural look but needs protective coating and occasional upkeep outdoors to maintain durability and prevent weathering.
  • Merbau Hardwood:
    A dense, oily tropical hardwood known for its deep reddish-brown colour and exceptional durability. Naturally resistant to rot, termites, and moisture, making it ideal for outdoor use. Requires minimal upkeep — just occasional oiling to preserve its rich tone, or leave it untreated to develop a rustic silver patina over time.
  • Spotted Gum:
    A premium Australian hardwood with high strength, striking grain patterns, and excellent outdoor performance. Naturally resistant to decay and fire, it’s a great choice for exposed settings. Can be oiled to deepen its natural beauty or left to weather naturally — either way, it’s built to last.

At Woodpecker Project, we don’t believe in cutting corners. Our steel outdoor furniture range is designed to be strong, durable, low-maintenance, and genuinely beautiful — all at once. We build using premium galvanised steel, expertly welded and finished with a professional-grade powder coat for long-lasting protection — all proudly made right here in Melbourne.

Hardware

Unlike standard fixings, galvanised screws, bolts, and brackets are coated for long-term durability, helping your table stay strong, safe, and reliable year after year. We always use high-quality materials from top to bottom — because delivering the best furniture experience starts with what you can’t always see, but will definitely feel over time.

Colors

Painted Finishes (White, Black, Monument)

  • Best for: A clean, modern look with minimal maintenance
  • Painted tables are fully sealed and offer excellent protection from sun and rain. Lighter colours like white reflect heat and stay cooler in the sun, while black and monument look sleek but may absorb more heat. We use premium exterior paints specifically formulated for harsh outdoor conditions, so these finishes require minimal upkeep — just occasional cleaning.

Tip: Great for commercial spaces, patios, or backyards where you want bold, consistent colour and low maintenance.

Merbau or Walnut Stain (Full or Top Only)

  • Best for: Highlighting natural timber grain with a rich, warm finish.
  • Our stained finishes soak into the timber and bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Merbau stain has a reddish-brown tone, while walnut gives a deeper, darker look. These are ideal for blending with existing timber features like decks or fences.

Tip: Stains look stunning but will need a light recoat every 1–2 years to keep the colour fresh and maintain water resistance.

Varnished Finish (Full or Top Only)

  • Best for: A natural timber look with a protective clear coat.
  • Clear varnish protects the surface while showing off the natural grain of the timber. It gives a slightly glossy finish and adds water resistance, but like all clear coats, it may need reapplying every 6–18 months depending on exposure.

Tip: Best for semi-covered areas or for customers who want that natural timber aesthetic with some added protection.

Raw Timber (Untreated)

  • Best for: DIYers or budget-friendly custom projects
  • This option comes sanded and ready to finish. It’s perfect if you want to apply your own oil, stain, or paint — or just love the raw timber look. Keep in mind, raw tables must be sealed before outdoor use to prevent weather damage.

Tip: Only choose this option if you're prepared to finish and maintain it yourself.
